What is the truth about my current situation?
2-1-3 'The Querent' Star - Empress - 7 of Cups
This combination of cards suggests to me that you are an emotionally mature, powerful woman but you feel your creativity is going stagnant in your current position.
What must I adapt to or accept?
7 'Destiny/karma' Death
Several inevitabilities come to mind. There is the possibility that your current post has very little scope for growth and development, or even that it is in danger of redundancy. At the very least, there is nothing you can do about the cuts and redundancies that are happening around you, nor can you do anything about the lowered staff morale, etc, going on around you. It is a work environment that is filled with uncertainty and danger; there's nothing you can do about that.
What is under my control, ie, what can I do or change?
6 'Psychological basis' Knight of Disks
The card suggests that now is a time to pretty much 'hunker down' (as we say where I'm from) and keep steadily getting on with your work. The Knight of Disks is a slow-and-steady-wins-the-race type of person, and his main concern is doing what's practical and doing a good job at it. This reading, then, advises caution and careful consideration. You may feel like your Empress/Star sides are not being nurtured, but the Knight of Disks seems to be here to remind you that you would be a darn sight more affronted if there was no food in the fridge or warm bed to sleep in at night. At least during the harsh transition time indicated by the Death card, keep your head down and keep plugging away.
Where might I be heading?
4 ' Likely outcome' Emperor
The Emperor card here suggests that your good work might stand you in good stead with your managers. Though it also suggests to me that your steadfast Knight of Disks behaviour might have them looking upon you as dependable, and thus you might get lots of stuff delegated to you because you're trustworthy. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I would be wary of having so many things offloaded on you that you are in essence working above your paygrade. The Knight of Disks would study his job description and check these things! :)
The Emperor hints of a possible promotion, but my personal intuition in this moment is telling me that if that happens it probably won't be right around the corner.
5 'Possible outcome' 4 of Swords
The 4 of Swords is a card of rest; it often represents peace of mind. Sometimes it can mean taking a mental break from something that's been worrying you. I'm also seeing this as voluntary redundancy. Maybe they'll make you an offer of a golden handshake, who knows?
So...what can you do to make your job more enjoyable? Well...this draw of seven cards is saying to me that right now is not a very enjoyable time in your work life. It might be asking a bit much to try to make it 'enjoyable'. I can see that part of what is troubling to you is that you feel stifled and the atmosphere at the moment is pretty grim. The cards are saying, to make your job more enjoyable, and I know this may sound harsh, but for the moment, don't expect it to be all that much fun or fulfilling. For now, the best thing you can do to make your job situation at least comfortable, is to keep your mind focused on the task at hand and doing it well, and wait out this rough patch. I don't see anything in these cards to suggest you should do anything risky, like quitting to start your own business, or entering into salary negotiations, etc. There's nothing here about leaping off into the fire. This draw is about being sobre, steady and by the book.

ReplyDeleteCards 2-1-3, Star-Empress-7 Cups Is very much how I would see myself right now. Especially the 7 Cups - lots of wistful daydreams of something different.
#7 - Death. Your description sums up the atmosphere at work. There had been more room for growth before but that isn't the case anymore.
#6 - Knight of Disks. That's a hopeful description for me. It's really a positive way for me work through this time and good to see it suggested.
#4 - Emperor. Again, this is pretty positive for me. I will have to watch to make sure I don't take on too much but it's good promotion or not.
#5 - 4 Swords. This might be a more direct interpretation too. I'm about to start a 2 month period of leave that I've been looking as a break from work.
