My collection

I've just made a spreadsheet of my tarot/oracle collection. It is hard to track because it is in a state of constant flux. I buy and sell/trade on a whim. So I never quite know what I've got, and the things I used to have I don't dwell on. I tried to remember what I've had in the past, but what's the point?  They're only cards, after all, out of sight out of mind. Which makes collecting a bit silly, really.  I ought to get rid of many of these, as I never use the majority of them.  At present I own (the ones I'd be willing to part with today have a star):

  1. Hi Carla,
William Morris was right... And there seems to be a general clear-out vibe in the air at the moment. I feel that too, but also its opposite ;-)
Am I right in thinking you might be willing to move on your Art of Life cards, which I'd love to give a home to? (They definitely fit the "beautiful" benchmark...)

    1. Oh, Nion, did I put a star by that! Must edit. I quite like that, and when I was going through the decks this morning, pulled it out to put aside to go out on my altar today. Must go back and recheck the list!

    1. No you were right, I had a star by it. I have taken it off, though. :) (You know you can get this deck with free shipping at amazon for under £9 by the way).

  3. Thanks ever so for the heads-up! (I was obviously meant to have this conversation...)

  4. Yikes, such a different attitude to your decks than me. I can't imagine parting with even the decks I like least - they have all still brought me or taught me something! I also find my tastes and way of reading changing, so that a deck that before held no appeal can come to be a favourite at a later time - rather like you and the Thoth! I'm sure your attitude is far better - aparigraha/non-attachment to the fore - but I just can't manage it, at least as far as decks go...

    1. You know you can almost always buy a deck later if you change your mind. But I never have, and I don't regret any of the ones I have let go for a song -- not even those supposedly fantastic MRP decks. All gone. :) There are other things to occupy my present moment. I might turn around and give all my Thoths away in 6 months. You never know with me! (It's possible but I doubt it!)

    2. Now, that's just not true - it's often really hard to find some decks later! I have quite a lot that are now OOP. Anyhow, with your quote above, lots of decks are beautiful, too ;)

And, probably a silly question, but what is an MRP deck?

    3. Magic Realist Press -- Victorian Romantic and Bohemian Gothic and all those.

If a deck I once had becomes HTF (and they have), doesn't bother me. I just remember that I didn't want it anyway and look at the ones I've got or the ones available right now. :)

    4. As I say, you're a better woman than I. I would definitely have regrets - and have had when I didn't get a deck and then later it went OOP, like the MRP Tarot of Prague...

    5. Nah, not better, just different. I've had to reconcile myself to a lot of things in my life, the lack of a silly deck of cards isn't going to get me!

  5. Is the Celtic Messages Oracle the circular one? I am looking for this deck and I am in the UK myself!
