Inventory and a rethink

I woke up this morning with a burning urge to make a spreadsheet of all my decks. Is that weird or what? So, I did it. It took me roughly 6 hours to drag out all my decks, catalogue them, and empty my bookshelves and do all the those as well. I still have no idea why I felt the urge to do this, but I've done it.

Also, before I got up this morning, I got the idea to do away with the labeling system I currently use on this blog, indexing by decks, and instead switch to indexing by card. I have several years worth of posts here, but I just can't face the thought of doing them retrospectively, so I will just start from scratch.

I'm also thinking of scrapping the Saturday - Friday deck of the week scheme, and just use whatever deck I like for however long I like.

I know, crazy isn't it!

Here's my deck inventory (I'll spare you the full spreadsheet):

  1. Wow, you have a lot a stuff. I can imagine you want to have an overview of everything you've got
I like to feel free to pick the deck I want to write about too
I am looking forward to see how this change will work out for you

    1. I really would like to get rid of some of these, though. I just have too many!

    2. It can be a bit overwhelming to have too many choices
Perhaps you can put all the decks in a large box and when you want to read with one of them you put it in "Keep" box afterwards. In that way you can separate the wheat from the chaff.
Lately I seem to be more and more drawn to read with the Rider waite versions I have. Just back to the basics I think :)

    3. It's a good idea but I am not that methodical with my decks. I usually just sit and take a few out every few months and try to flog or trade them.

  4. It is a good thing my apartment is small. I keep mine down to a minimum of about twenty decks.
