Lenormand Triplet: Daily Draw

This week I'm finally turning back to the Lenormand oracle. I've been reading Caitlyn Matthews' book The Complete Lenormand Oracle Handbook: Reading the Language and Symbols of the Cards (Destiny Books, 2014). In my opinion, it is the best book in English on Lenormand. I recommend it, and will write a review as soon as I've finished reading it. This time I am reading it straight through rather than just dipping in and out.

I thought I'd do a draw for the day:

Esmeralda Lenormand by Karla Souza (self-published, date not listed)
This triplet could be suggesting a variety of messages. The Moon is the work card in my Lenormand reading style, and I'm happy to see that Matthews uses this card for work as well. It can also mean recognition or accolades for work produced. Matthews recommends paying attention to the way the blade is facing on the Scythe card. I personally sometimes read a reversed Scythe position as a harvest or drawing in. Yes, the harvest is the result of some sort of sacrifice, effort, etc, but it's reaping of something. I thought this was my own idiosyncratic reading, but it's in Matthews' book, so that, too, is edifying. (See below for examples).

Literally, the cards are: Sudden cutting down + work or awards + stability. So you might read them as:

There will be a sudden end of stability at work.
Something will suddenly change at work, ending your feelings of stability.

On the other hand, if we notice that the cutting edge of the Scythe faces away from the Moon, we might read them as:

There will be a harvest of stability at work today.
You will unexpectedly receive praise for your reliable work.

It might even be a warning or a reminder:

Be careful not to cut down work stability (through your actions) today.
Remember to give sudden and unexpected praise to others for doing a good job. (You will also then reap the rewards of a staff who feel more secure and validated.)

For myself, yesterday I actually asked a senior member of staff if she had time today to do some mentoring with me about an issue at work. So I am seeing it as 'There will be a harvest of stability (or good reliable work advice) today.'  But any of the other messages might also prove valid. We'll just have to wait and see.

  1. Definitely a case of "hindsight telling" :D
I think this is often the case with Lenormand cards. There are so many possible ways to interpret the cards that often in hindsight you can uncover what they were all about.
I do love this system though and to be honest, I am not quite sure why (yet)

    1. Do you have a Lenormand deck yet? There are lots of reasonably priced ones. :)

    2. Yes I have several including Chloe's. I really love working with them but you can interpret them in so many ways that it sometimes annoys me! ☺

  2. Good luck with your mentoring session, hope it helps :) I also see making the cut in your working reputation - similar to your unexpected praise take...

    1. You know, she was busy all day, but I did have good chat with another senior member of staff.

  3. Glad that you are getting back into Lenormand. I am currently going through this book too! :) Old habits die hard, so it is taking some time. I only wish that the practice exercises that I am on would have the author's answers afterward. For these three cards, I would say that your day would go swiftly and stable. Do keep us updated!

    1. Fortunately for me, I learned very traditional card reading techniques, so all of the material is familiar to me. I'd like to see some sample answers to the practice questions, too. :)

  4. You know, I just thought about this now. I use the moon card for work also, but I am remembering that tonight is the new moon. I see you reaping your reward from it, and planting your spell into a firm place!

    1. Good thinking and thanks! I decided to do my spell this weekend when I'm on my own and have more time and inclination to do the working in a big way. :)
