Job grand tableau
I'm doing a Grand Tableau specifically to examine this job interview on Wednesday and how it might affect my life. Will I I get the job? Will my life change? Time to take a look.
The first three cards are Scythe - Woman - Clover. Something will come to an abrupt end for me but that will be a good thing.
The four corners Scythe - Clouds - Letter - Book. Confusion comes to an abrupt end when a letter (email or other message) reveals a secret. The outcome of my interview will seem unclear to me until I get word of it. In other words, I won't be able to tell on the day how I've done. It could also be that the interview panel have a tough time making the decision and need to scrupulously look at the scoring to determine the successful candidate. Looks like it might be a tight race.
The cards near me are Scythe, Clover, Coffin, Rider, Lilies. Man, Child, Moon, Anchor, Stars, Snake. All these cards are about endings and beginnings, hopes, stability, complications to be worked out. These are the sorts of things that one would expect to be surrounding me when going for a new job. I think it's a good sign that they are near me.
The cards near Clouds (which is far from me) are Heart, Ship, Dog, Path, Birds, Key, Flowers, Tree. Clouds is about as far from as you can get, and the cards of love, movement, loyalty, choices, gifts and health are around it. This might sound odd, but given that the Clouds is so far from me, I take that to mean that I DON'T have to worry about anything bad in these areas. Traditionally, if Tree and Birds are far from you, they denote good health and a prosperous journey. Given that the topic of this spread is specifically a job interview and its outcome, I believe this means these areas will not be adversely affected by whatever happens.
Scythe and Coffin are to my left, so their effect is weakened. Coffin is not only to my left but below me, so its effects are more weakened. I don't need to worry that this abrupt ending, whatever it may be, is horrible. Plus, with Coffin - Rider, I see this as being the cost of commuting if I'm successful. I'm at the top of the spread, so I am in a very strong position. This bodes well for me, I believe. Top of the heap?
In the centre of the spread, we have Child - Ring - Moon - House. A new work contract and work base? Could be!
The last row of four: Storks - Mountain - Fish - Whips. Change blocked by money troubles. The biggest obstacle to change is financial and this is a repeated worry or concern. It occurs to me there might be some trouble in payroll, pensions, or my own personal financial situation.
The chain from me to work (Moon) is Lilies. I am seeing this as my customer service skills and staff training skills being key to my getting the job. Lilies is associated with calm, mentoring, and even social work. I should bring out my skills in these areas to make a good impression.
In summary, most of what I've already come to believe about this job has been reflected in this grand tableau. I might get it, I might not. If I don't get it, I'll still feel fine. If I do get it, I will probably like it. There will be big changes to be made, and money will be a concern, of course.
I have to be honest and say, overall I get the impression that the outlook isn't 100% positive for my getting this job. But you never know.

Lenormand Triplet: Daily Draw
This week I'm finally turning back to the Lenormand oracle. I've been reading Caitlyn Matthews' book The Complete Lenormand Oracle Handbook: Reading the Language and Symbols of the Cards (Destiny Books, 2014). In my opinion, it is the best book in English on Lenormand. I recommend it, and will write a review as soon as I've finished reading it. This time I am reading it straight through rather than just dipping in and out.
I thought I'd do a draw for the day:
This triplet could be suggesting a variety of messages. The Moon is the work card in my Lenormand reading style, and I'm happy to see that Matthews uses this card for work as well. It can also mean recognition or accolades for work produced. Matthews recommends paying attention to the way the blade is facing on the Scythe card. I personally sometimes read a reversed Scythe position as a harvest or drawing in. Yes, the harvest is the result of some sort of sacrifice, effort, etc, but it's reaping of something. I thought this was my own idiosyncratic reading, but it's in Matthews' book, so that, too, is edifying. (See below for examples).
Literally, the cards are: Sudden cutting down + work or awards + stability. So you might read them as:
There will be a sudden end of stability at work.
Something will suddenly change at work, ending your feelings of stability.
On the other hand, if we notice that the cutting edge of the Scythe faces away from the Moon, we might read them as:
There will be a harvest of stability at work today.
You will unexpectedly receive praise for your reliable work.
It might even be a warning or a reminder:
Be careful not to cut down work stability (through your actions) today.
Remember to give sudden and unexpected praise to others for doing a good job. (You will also then reap the rewards of a staff who feel more secure and validated.)
For myself, yesterday I actually asked a senior member of staff if she had time today to do some mentoring with me about an issue at work. So I am seeing it as 'There will be a harvest of stability (or good reliable work advice) today.' But any of the other messages might also prove valid. We'll just have to wait and see.
I thought I'd do a draw for the day:

Thoth Tarot |
Today's card is the Emperor from Thoth Tarot. I like him very much. He is full of fiery Aries energy, flanked as he is by two rams peeping over each of his shoulders. He's holding his royal scepter and orb. His throne is decorated at each elbow with rather atomic-looking starbursts. His shield shows two flaming birds (phoenixes perhaps?) spreading their wings before a glowing red sun. The Lamb of God sits at his feet, and at the very bottom of the card are the phallic fleur de lis symbols. A big blazing sun frames his head. He's covered over from top to bottom with symbols of power and authority. And he's got his legs in an approximation of that open leg-cross style associated with men asserting their dominance. (Supposedly the ankle to knee position asserts the 'crotchal region' as Anchorman would say, while the knee over knee position shows a more passive personality. Anyway!...)
Today is the beginning of my second week in my new post. I think it is time to start asserting some of my own authority there. Must make myself and my wishes known. I suppose it's time to start telling people things I want them to do, and expecting them to do it.
As far as the other interview goes, I've done a series of readings about that post. The first one suggested to me that I would be a good fit for the role (done in Dec when I first read about the post):

A Work Reading
Today there will be an important meeting, part of which could well have a bearing on hubby's job. I thought I would draw a Line of 5 to see what might be the impact of this meeting on hubster's situation.
The cards here seem to me to suggest that while some sacrifices must be made, well-established posts will be preserved where possible.
Where do I get this?
The central card is the most important one in the spread, and Fox is often associated with work. Because this reading is about work, I decided to us that interpretation. (I also associate Anchor and Moon with work, so I would have treated them the same if they'd landed here). Fox+Lily+Tree suggests a long established post (Lily can mean older person, and Tree can mean longevity). Cross+Key can mean a sacrifice -- a hardship or burden is the solution to a problem.
The sacrifice or hardship may directly affect him, but there's no way here to say what that hardship might be. It could be anything at all, and just pulling an example out of the air, it could be something like no salary increase for a set time, or having to go through an assessment procedure to keep his current post, or even being put in a redeployment pool. Or it could be none of those things.
The most important message here would seem to be that he is not in the direct line of fire.
I shuffled very thoroughly and drew another Line of 5: How will the sacrifices that need to be made by hubster's employer directly affect him?

It amused me after a long and careful shuffle to see 3 of the same cards pop up. And I was rather amazed that 'sacrifice' was my focus and it landed right in the 'focus' position of the spread. Not sure why I was amazed. I am a card reader and I believe in the cards. But their behaviour still amazes me.
The happiest part of this spread is the answer to the question seen in the last three cards - Cross+Rider+Bouquet -- Good news is on the way! So the answer would seem to be that hubby will not be directly affected by the meeting today.
Whew! Now to see what 'really' happens...I will of course let you know. We will find out on Monday when we return to work from our holiday.

Square of Nine for Autumn Equinox

The central concern of the coming period is love and emotion (Heart). It's no surprise that a very important factor for me will be my husband's recent worries and troubles (Dog+Cross), but it looks like a positive outcome is going to turn up (Key+Sun).
There has been some confusion lately about the housing situation of my MIL, which seems clearly suggested in House+Cloud+Bear, but the addition of Star makes me believe there may be a resolution, or at least that things will begin to look more hopeful. And that is no doubt at least one of the positive outcomes referred to by Key+Sun.
All in all, things are looking positive for the coming weeks.

Lenormand Line of 5: My Exercise Regime (She's Just a Devil Woman)
I thought I'd do a Lenormand reading, since Chloe at Inner Whispers reminded me I have a small box full of neglected Lenormand decks languishing in the other room.
Line of 5: General reading on my exercise regime
Line of 5: General reading on my exercise regime
Child + Garden + Rider + Sun + Path
Reading:
'My exercise regime could be more of a source of joy if I included other people in it. In the past I enjoyed socialising with exercise friends, but at the moment I am at a loss as to which way I should go to get some of that joy of working out back again.'
(I arrived at this reading thusly:
Rider is modified by both Garden and Sun. Rider = exercise (I selected it as the significator for its sporty associations). Rider+Garden=socialising about exercise -- or it could be exercising in a social setting, which I never did. Rider + Sun=an exerciser who gets joy from the activity. So the three together = enjoying exercise through socialising about it. Now, this could be taken as advice to be more social about exercising.
Child+Garden=youthful enthusiasm/new mind about social place. Because these two cards left of the significator indicate the past, I know that my only social place about exercise in the past was an online community I used to visit every day. I never went to a gym or worked out with anyone, other than hubby right here at home. (I do home workouts).
Sun+Path=Joy that has reached a crossroad. In other words, a decision must be made about it.)
You'll notice there's no advice as to which way to go with this. Instead, as often happens, I got a summary of my present situation. Now, I believe I got this general snapshot of the present situation because I did not ask a specific question. This often happens when reading for clients. If they do not ask anything specific and just say, 'Tell me about my workout regime,' I believe the cards just go, 'Okay, here you go,' and take a Polaroid of the current situation. This can be frustrating for the client who actually wanted to know about the future of the situation, and for the reader, who knows the client is frustrated but was just doing as she was asked. So let's modify with a specific reading.
Line of 5 Specific reading. How can I get the most from my workouts? Or more specifically, how can I motivate myself to work out more frequently and what should I do to get the best results?
